Downton Abbey Inspired Engagements

I just finished editing the engagements I did a couple weeks ago.  We went for a modern Downton Abbey theme and I am so happy with how they turned out.  Most adorable couple- check, gorgeous mansion- check, beautiful evening lighting- check.  

I really couldn't go wrong with these :)

Preston and Emilee

We took these pics at Wheeler farm on a perfect warm day of 45 degrees :)  Sad when 45 degrees is considered warm.  Preston and Emilee loved the look of brick and wood for a background, so it was a little different than my usual light backgrounds, but I think they turned out great!

Our Year in Review

With my maternity leave at the beginning of this last year, house-hunting in the middle, and a move at the end, I didn't have much time for photography. But, I did get to spend a lot of time with my sweet kids and husband :) 

January: We went to Seattle for a week to visit my family and go to my little sister's wedding in Portland:

Our Christmas

Christmas was just WAY too short this year.  We didn't move in our house until 2 weeks before, got the tree up a week before Christmas and my family was here a week.  Much too short.

Florida Trip

The Ford Family

We finally made it to a family reunion this year on Trey's side.  We stayed in some really nice cabins up in Eden, UT by Pineview Reservoir and had so much fun. I got to know everyone a little better, this cute family included:

Baby Ellie

We got to go see this little girl when she was just 2 weeks old. What a sweetie! Macsen seemed huge compared to her!  I love spending time with these guys!

The Tuttle Family

Love this family!  We got to spend a weekend with them in May in St. George at their grandparents' super nice house and it was so much fun!  I wish they didn't live so far so we could see them more often!

Hailey 1 Year Photographs

I am finally getting around to posting the shoots I have done this summer...First off- Hailey's 1 year pics.  She was such a great little poser and we did these in just minutes.  I spent more time with the editing trying out some effects in PicMonkey just for fun- go try it if you don't have Photoshop but want some fun coloring effects.

Seattle Barn Reception

I got to photograph my sister's barn wedding reception out near Seattle a couple weeks ago.  My mom and Pinterest were the masterminds behind the decor and everything turned out so cute!  Check it out:

Crystal Maternity

I got to take some maternity pics for my cousin Crystal.  She is even more gorgeous on the inside than she is on the outside- I know that is hard to believe, but it's true!  She brought her sweet little boy with her who tripped and hurt himself while we were doing pics, but was such a good sport and let his mom get a few more before they left.  Can't wait to meet his little sister on the way!

Mel and Timmy: Newlyweds!

We did this "newlywed session" at Wheeler Farm in Murray, UT.  For any beginner photographers, this is one of the best places you can go to take pictures.  There are literally hundreds of places you can pose kids, couples, and families here.  This session was SO much fun.  I honestly can't remember the last time it was this fun to take pictures.  Thanks for being such great models you two!

Newlywed Photos

Since Melanie and Timmy didn't need to send announcements for their wedding receptions until after the wedding (and because I was having a baby shortly before they got married) we decided to take their "engagement" pictures after they were married. So, I am calling them "newlywed photos."  We took these yesterday so I will post the rest ASAP, but for now here is a little taste of what is to come: 

Jamie Maternity

I am so so excited for my younger sister Jamie, who is expecting her first baby in May!  Look at how cute she is pregnant!

Mel and Timmy Temple Pics

It was so fun to take pictures of my beautiful sister and new brother-in-law before their sealing at the temple. We couldn't have gotten a better day weather-wise and these two are just so photogenic. The Portland temple is beautiful, ethereal surrounded by pine trees, and also has a great atrium inside that we could escape the cold in to do more pics. Hope you like them!

Melanie and Timmy Bridals Part One

This is my favorite kind of photo session to do...Gorgeous couple, gorgeous attire, and no stress non-wedding day, along with the bride being my sister.  Pretty much perfect.  Not to mention the setting being beautiful with lots of natural light and indoors so we were warm.  Yep, about as cushy as this job gets :)
